On the evening of October 26th, Discovery Bay Beach was bustling with excitement as the first DB Beer Run event was successfully held there, attracting numerous beer enthusiasts and running enthusiasts to gather together and jointly experience this unique and joyous competition.

 

The atmosphere at the event site was extremely lively. The afterglow of the setting sun bathed the beach, draping the entire venue in a golden veil. The participants were dressed in light sportswear. Some gathered in small groups, chatting and laughing, sharing their anticipation for the upcoming race; others were doing their final warm-up exercises, with an eager look that was clearly visible. A variety of DB beers were placed on site, and the faint aroma of malt filled the air, adding an even more cheerful atmosphere.

 

With the departure of the first runner, the beer run officially kicked off. The runners dashed along the carefully planned beach and surrounding routes. What distinguished this event from traditional running competitions was that during this race, every time the runners passed a supply station, they would stop, take a cup of refreshing DB beer, drink it all in one gulp, and then continue running. This unique running experience had everyone excited. Although a light rain started to fall in the evening, it did not dampen the enthusiasm of the runners at all. Instead, it added a special charm to the race.

 

At the finish line, a large number of enthusiastic spectators and staff had already gathered. Whenever a runner crossed the finish line, enthusiastic cheers and applause would break out on the spot. The expressions of the runners after crossing the line varied. Some were flushed but couldn't conceal their excitement, while others were panting but had broad smiles on their faces. Everyone was immersed in the joy of completing the race.

 

After intense competition, the various awards of the race were finally settled. The first prize was jointly won by [PAUL] and [YZP]. With their excellent drinking capacity and speed, they stood out on the racecourse while enjoying the beer and won 10 coupons worth HK$25 each. The recipients of the second prize were [Edward] and [Chen Ling]. They also performed outstandingly and jointly received 5 coupons worth HK$25 each. The third prize was taken by [pili Hu], who won 4 coupons worth HK$25. When the winners went on stage to receive their awards, thunderous applause rang out again from the audience to congratulate them on their wonderful performances.

 

This first DB Beer Run event not only brought a unique sports experience to the participants but also further promoted the integration of beer culture and running culture in the Discovery Bay community. The event organizer stated that in the future, they would consider holding such events once a month at the end of each month, providing a joyful and unique sports and entertainment platform for more people, allowing everyone to enjoy the fun of sports while also savoring the pleasure brought by high-quality beer.
